Well that didn’t go as planned. 0-2 on bets and neither were even close. Not good. DFS wise we were pretty much on it.
NEW ZEALAND +900 2.5 (-140o+105u)
CHILE +1700 3 (+110o/-140u)
USA -10000 5 (-180o/+130u)
Heavy ownership will fall on the US, Sweden and Netherlands. I think rightfully so. 3 big to absolutely monstrous favorites on 1 slate will do that. The decision will need to be made with which team you want to press.
The United States have a massive total and are 5 goals favorites. Ownership will go there. Can we get different? Do we need to?
Narrator: we do not!
Get as much USA as you can.
I think of the 3 favs, Sweden may oddly have the least ownership FYI.
Heath – USA – $9.4k
Super stud. Scores goals. Usually plays the full 90. IMPORTANT!!
Rapinoe – USA – $9.9k
Very very very good player. She usually gets subbed off and this one may get out of hand which could bring her off earlier than ever. Very good play but risky with the sub situation. She could also score 1 goal and assist 2 others by half and sit out the second. Big decision here.
Morgan – USA – $10.2k
I don’t really rate Alex Morgan. She’s been in bad form. However, she’s super fast and Thailand are basically a high school team. Here’s the issue with super fast people…that doesn’t help much when the other team bunkers. She’s still a stud and will likely get at least 1 goal in this game. I’m going with other players in tourneys. Get the play in cash.
Dunn – USA – $7.8k
She actually plays left back but gets forward a TON. There are so many forwards that I want to play that initially wrote this off but when trying to fit as many USA players as possible the play makes more sense. She plays the full 90 nearly all the time.
Martens – NED – $9.6k
STUD but do we really want to go here with the other options? Holland are favorites but in the lowest game total on the board and she has 3 other studs with her.
Miedema – NED – $9.2k
One of my picks to win the golden boot so you know how I feel about her. I might get sneaky and roster her a bit with my second and third lineups. Hard to see her making my first. She’s very good and has a nose for goal.
Van de Sanden – NED – $8.9k
Goal scorer off the right side in all games leading up to the tourney. Again, the price and USA issue though…
These 3 Swedes are the best of the attacking bunch. They are -700 and should win. Who scores? Asllani plays the #10 position and is among the goals BUT I have a sneaky little midfielder I hope plays…
Asllani – SWE – $8.2k
Blackstenius – SWE – $8.6k
Jakobsson – SWE – $8k
Mewis – USA – $6.9k
Almost a lock to make my main. Just cheap enough and involved in the goals to make her a near must play.
Ertz – USA – $6.4k
Not afraid to stick her head in on set pieces. That is huge in the women’s game. Also will be breaking up play all day so assuming the intern at OPTA is awake, she may make value with just tackles/interceptions.
Lloyd – USA – $7.5k
The wet dream. IF she starts, I will be making 150 lineups and she’ll be on every single one. She won’t start though.
Van de Donk – NED – $7.9k
I really wish I could play her and actually might in the end. I don’t know that I can roster the 3 F’s on my main from Holland but van de Donk is playing attacking center mid and always amongst the goals.
Anvegard – SWE – $3.8k
Dear lord please let her start. She’s started (and scored) in their game against Austria in the run up. Played F that day. The tough part is that she’s the second game of the day so we won’t know at lock in the morning. Need pivot options if you go here and it doesn’t work out.
O’Hara – USA – $5.2k
The spend up at D but she doesn’t score or assist very often. I’m sticking with the punt D/GK strategy until I don’t make a profit. So far so good.
Van Es – NED – $3.5k
Starts at LB for Netherlands. Plays the 90. Super cheap.
These Swedish players are how I’m going to get exposure to their team. Likely clean sheet and under $4k. I’ll make a brief note on each but understand I’m likely going two from here or Van Es and 1 from here.
Bjorn – SWE – $3.4k
My likely starter. Bjorn doesn’t always start but when she does it’s in the midfield and she bagged a goal in the runup to the tourney.
Eriksson – SWE – $3.8k
Usually starts at LB.
Andersson – SWE – $3.1k
Second choice LB. wouldn’t mind the $700 savings.
Glas – SWE – $3.2k
Started one game at right back.
Naeher – USA – $6k
Nayler – NZL – $3.9k
Endler – CHI – $3.7k
Parlay – Netherlands, Sweden and USA to win 2.2U to win 1
