Detroit Lions impending free-agent DE Everson Griffen said in a telephone interview with Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press Thursday, Jan. 7, that he is interested in returning to the Minnesota Vikings, where he spent the bulk of his NFL career. ‘You tell them, I said, ‘If you want it, go get it,” Griffen said. ‘You can put that.’ Griffen had dropped hints on Twitter earlier this week about wanting to join the Vikings by retweeting Minnesota fans clamoring for his return, as well as retweeting a quote by head coach Mike Zimmer stating that getting more pass rushers is a priority for the team.
