Damian Lillard (POR) @10.2K on FD/ $9.7K on DK: Lillard is a legitimate stud option tonight (30.4% usage rate), however, roster construction will find him bumped for the likes of James Harden and Kawhi Leonard…
Three game slates are usually bad, but this one is really bad. If you’re investing a significant amount of your hard-earned bankroll tonight, there is a phone number somewhere that you should probably call for help. The fact that you’re reading this article means you’re past the point of no return, so here are a few GPP options that could make tonight less painful.
Damian Lillard (POR) @10.2K on FD/ $9.7K on DK: Lillard is a legitimate stud option tonight (30.4% usage rate), however, roster construction will find him bumped for the likes of James Harden and Kawhi Leonard. That makes him an excellent expensive pivot if you’re looking to fade chalk tonight.
Kyle Lowry (TOR) $7.8K on FD/$7.2K on DK: Lowry hasn’t been playing exceptionally well this season, but he’s been playing even worse ever since he returned from sitting out with a sore back (five games ago). He’s seen his usual allotment of minutes since then (34, 33, 36 and 34 minutes), however, his field goal attempts have fallen off a cliff (7, 8, 8 and 5 field goal attempts). I don’t need to tell you that his fantasy production has taken a hit, as a result (34.1, 25.8, 24.1 and 16.5 fantasy points). There aren’t many other options to choose from tonight, so you might as well take a shot on someone you know is much better than he’s performing and will be low owned.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (LAC) $5.1K on FD/$4.9K on DK: Lou Williams suffered a hamstring injury in last night’s game against Phoenix, so Gilgeous-Alexander will be in line for some extra usage. He’s put up 33.8 in 32.3 fantasy points in two of his last three games and has a ceiling which is reflected by his current salary. If you’re not interested in Gilgeous-Alexander, feel free to take a look at his teammate Patrick Beverley (LAC) $4.2K on FD/$3.6K on DK.
Danilo Gallinari (LAC) $6.7K on FD/$6.5K on DK: If Lou Williams (hamstring) sits out, Gallinari should also receive a boost in usage. Roster construction will lead many to go with Kawhi Leonard in cash games, so feel free to pivot to Gallinari in GPPs.
Richaun Holmes (PHO) $4.5K on FD/$4.1K on DK: Holmes has played very well lately (at least 22.4 fantasy points in eight of his last 11 games). He received more playing time against the Los Angeles Clippers and made the most of the opportunity (40.4 fantasy points in 25 minutes). If Holmes continues to see more minutes, he could find himself in a good spot to capitalize tonight against the San Antonio Spurs.
Deandre Ayton (PHO) $6.6K on FD/$6.7K on DK: Ayton has been ill recently, but you couldn’t tell by looking at his recent fantasy production (32.2 fantasy points against the Miami Heat and 45.9 fantasy points against the Los Angeles Clippers). Roster construction will lead most to either pay up at center or take the Boban Marjanovic route. This will make Ayton and the other mid-tier centers excellent tournament options.
