– What’s up my peeps? Welcome to another exciting two-game NBA playoff slate! The last two-game slate we had ended up having a quadruple overtime matchup in it, so if you’re suffering from any underline cardiac illness, you may want to take your medication prior to tip off. I’m not predicting any overtime games, but I am predicting another exciting slate. As I’ve said many times before, there isn’t a whole lot of “edge” to be had on slates like this, so don’t be foolish and risk too much of your hard-earned bankroll. As far as core players go, I’m currently rolling withKyle Lowry, Kawhi Leonard, Tobias Harris andNikola Jokic.
– If you’re taking the “studs and scrubs” approach Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving have the highest ceilings on the slate (in that order).
– If you’re looking to construct a low owned lineup, here are a few recommendations that will buck the current roster construction trends for this slate:
-RosterJimmy Butler and/orJoel Embiid. I’ve created more than a ton of lineups for today’s slate and I must say that Butler and Embiid are absent from the vast majority of them. Salary and roster construction could cause them to be lower owned commodities today. If you’re going to use both of them in the same lineup, consider going all the way with a 76ers team stack (see below).
-Go with a game stack. If you’re wondering why there’s value in game stacking on slates like this, look no further than the quadruple overtime matchup between the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trailblazers. If your lineup was “heavy handed” with regards to this game, you took home “all the monies”, or at least a good bit of it. The Nuggets versus Trailblazers series has been very competitive from a game-to-game standpoint and everyone will have a multi-overtime game fresh on their minds. This will likely be the heavily targeted matchup, despite having slightly worse Vegas numbers (over/under of 210.5, with Portland favored by -3.0). Personally, I’ll stick with Vegas and take the road less traveled and roll with the Toronto Raptors @ Philadelphia 76ers (over/under of 214.5, with Philadelphia favored by -2.5).
-Go with a team stack. Besides going with a game stack, this is the best way to get more “bang for your buck” on a two-game slate. Personally, the teams that I’m targeting are thePhiladelphia 76ers and Portland Trailblazers.
