– What’s up my peeps? The second round of the NBA playoffs has been just as exciting as the first round. I expect both of tonight’s games to live up to the hype, so get your popcorn ready. As I’ve said many times before, there isn’t a whole lot of “edge” to be had on slates like this, so don’t be foolish and risk too much of your hard-earned bankroll. As far as core players go, I’m currently rolling with Damian Lillard, Kyrie Irving, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Al Horford (on Fanduel). On DraftKings, I’m rolling with Irving, Antetokounmpo, Horford and CJ McCollum.
– If you’re taking the “studs and scrubs” approach Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving have the highest ceilings on the slate (in that order).
– If you’re looking to construct a low owned lineup, here are a few recommendations that will buck the current roster construction trends for this slate:
-Roster Eric Bledsoe and/or +Jamal Murray. Lillard and Irving will be high on everyone’s priority list tonight, leaving Bledsoe and Murray as low owned commodities. It’s slim pickings on a two-game slate, however, let’s not forget that each of these guys have 40 fantasy point upside. I’ll gladly take that in GPPs.
-Go with a game stack. Both of tonight’s games are expected to be highly competitive. As a result, they both have similar Vegas spreads. The Milwaukee Bucks @ Boston Celtics game has a slightly higher over/under of 220.0. Even though the Celtics are favored (-2.0), I’m looking for the Bucks to come away with a much-needed road win tonight, so I’ll personally focus on that game.
-Go with a team stack. Besides going with a game stack, this is the best way to get more “bang for your buck” on a two-game slate. Personally, the teams that I’m targeting are the Boston Celtics and Portland Trailblazers.
