– Today’s NBA trade deadline wasn’t as crazy as I thought it would be, but it certainly was just a stressful as always. A number of trades will have ramifications on tonight’s slate, opening up value on multiple teams. Guys like Ivan Rabb and Jaren Jackson Jr will be popular choices, but don’t forget about potential hidden gems like JaVale McGee (LAL), Jonathan Motley (LAC) and even Julian Washburn (MEM) if you’re feeling froggy.
– While some trades failed to open up a significant amount of value on a team, the resulting void in usage and potentially tight rotations make the remaining players valuable tournament targets. Take the Los Angeles Clippers, for example. With Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley and Marcin Gortat out of the picture, guys like Montrezl Harrell, Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley and even Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will need to step it up. Did I mention that Danilo Gallinari (back) is expected to return to the lineup tonight? Head Coach Doc Rivers stated that Gallinari wouldn’t return unless he was able to jump right into the starting lineup. Be sure to consider him as part of a Los Angeles Clippers team stack.
– I actually like a number of the Indiana Pacers tonight as well, so while this game might not be as sexy as the others (over/under of 217.0, with Indiana favored by -6.0), it does represent an opportunity to separate yourself from the rest of the crowd in tournaments.
