Cash Game Core Four
DraftKings: Auston Matthews (TOR), Johnny Gaudreau (CGY), William Nylander (TOR), Tyson Barrie (EDM)
FanDuel: Connor McDavid (EDM), Matthew Tkachuk (CGY), Zach Hyman (TOR), Tyson Barrie (EDM)
Top Stacks Of The Night
TOR 1: Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, Zach Hyman
Possible Add-On: Morgan Reilly
It’s Auston Matthews and he’s going up against the Canucks. What more do I have to say? The Arizona native has logged a goal in six straight contests and now gets to go up against a team that’s allowed an average of 4.38 goals per game. Toronto’s top line is boasting a 60.87 CF% and has logged 4 even-strength goals in just 24 minutes of action. As always, this line possesses a ton of upside and will be put in a ton of great situations to put the biscuit in the basket. I know I mainly talked about Matthews, but don’t sleep on Marner and Hyman either. Marner has recorded a point in six straight contests while Hyman has 2 points in his last two.
EDM 1: Connor McDavid, Ryan-Nugent-Hopkins, Jesse Puljujarvi
Possible Add-On: Tyson Barrie
It’s always difficult to find an excuse not to include McDavid’s line in a GPP stack if you’re making multiple lineups. McDavid has been on an absolute tear and it would just be silly not to include him. He’s logged 19 points in his last nine games and will be going up against a club that owns a 72.3 PK% this year. He also went head-to-head against Calgary four times last season and ended up with 4 goals and 1 assist. Nugent-Hopkins and Puljujarvi are expected to be on the top line with McDavid this evening. They’ve looked good together in 5v5 play, recording 2 goals and a 4.21 xGF.
CGY 2: Sean Monahan, Johnny Gaudreau, Dominik Simon
Possible Add-On: Rasmus Andersson
The Oilers are known for their stellar offensive play, but that does come with consequences. They tend to give up a ton of scoring chances as they’ve allowed 100 high danger scoring chances in just 12 contests. Edmonton also struggles keeping the puck out of their defensive zone which gives Calgary a huge advantage. The line I’m looking to use this evening is the Monahan-Gaudreau-Simon line. Gaudreau and Monahan are known to draw favorable matchups when playing on home ice which is a big reason why Gaudreau and Monahan have each recorded 6 points in 4 home games this year.
SJ 3: Time Meier, Dylan Gambrell, Noah Gregor
Possible Add-On: Mario Ferraro
The truth is that there isn’t any other stack that captured my attention for this evening’s slate. However, I know you all like cheap, under-the-radar stacks to use especially on a slate where all the expensive stacks are truly the only appealing option. I don’t mind getting exposure to San Jose this evening because Ryan Miller will likely be in net for Anaheim. He didn’t look great last season and isn’t off to the best of starts this year. I also like San Jose’s third line because Meier has shown in previous years his ability to put the puck in the net and this line is sporting a 65.63 CF% in their limited action. The price is right for these guys and all they need is to record a point to hit value.
