Cash Game Core Four

- Alex Goligoski (ARI)
Top Stacks Of The Night
SJ 1: Alexander Barabanov, Tomas Hertl, Evander Kane
Possible Add-On: Brent Burns
This line has nine 5v5 goals in 68 minutes of ice time. That’s just insane! It’s hard not to turn your attention to that number or want to get some exposure to Hertl and company, especially going up against the Coyotes. In April, the Coyotes allowed an average of 3.20 goals per game. They have also allowed 3.35 goals per game on the road this season. They haven’t been playing great hockey as of late and struggle on the road, making this a recipe for success.
VGK 1: TBD
Possible Add-On: TBD
Vegas has had guys in and out of its lineup all week long. It’s 7:29 a.m. ET as I write this so I have no idea what the club is planning to do today. What I do know is that the Golden Knights appeal to me tonight. They’ll be going up against the Blues which have not looked good on the ice in their last seven despite their 5-0-2 record. They own a 14.45 xGF and have allowed 68 high danger scoring chances. Vegas should see plenty of opportunities to light the lamp, and we all know it’s capable of doing just that. I’ll update this article later to provide you with which line I’m leaning towards.
No word yet on lines for Vegas, but my guess is that Smith-Karlsson-Marchessault all play tonight. I’m using them unless I see that Stone-Stephenson-Pacioretty are on the same line (then I’ll pivot to the Stone line)
Possible Add-On: TBD
Similar to the Golden Knights, I have no idea what the ‘Caps are planning to do today. They’ve already clinched a playoff spot but are still battling for the top seed. Alex Ovechkin has been in and out of the lineup and John Carlson has been given some time off. It will be interesting to see what they do, but just know I’m on them. The Flyers have been inconsistent all season long, whether it’s their goalie play or defense, which always makes them an appealing club to pick on.
Mantha-Backstrom-Sprong is the line I’m looking at this evening
PHI 1: Sean Couturier, Travis Konecny, Claude Giroux
Possible Add-On: Ivan Provorov
The Flyers have absolutely nothing to play for this evening but so do a lot of the teams on this slate. One thing that they do have going for them is that they’re going up against the team that has the most hated man in the NHL in Tom Wilson. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, just search for Wilson on twitter and you’ll see the madness that occurred on Monday and Wednesday. Maybe that gives the Flyers an extra pep in the step?
You also have to like that Washington has been resting a lot of guys. This gives the Flyers an edge, especially their top line. The Giroux-Konecny-Couturier line has seen 31 minutes of ice time this season, but boy has it been ridiculous. It’s logged 3 even strength goals while sporting an insane 73.44 CF%. This line has been impressive which makes me want to get exposure to it tonight.
- Elvis Merzlikins, CBJ
- Andrei Vasilevskiy, TB
- Josef Korenar, SJ
