Welcome to the NFL DFS DST Coach, where we identify the best defenses for our DraftKings and FanDuel lineups!
What’s up y’all? It’s Week 3 of this year’s NFL regular season. If you’re new to daily fantasy, you’ll soon realize defensive production is hard to predict on a week-to-week basis. Your best option is to come up with a process you follow week in and week out. In the long run, you’ll come out on top. Let’s take a look at the team defenses that make this week’s “wish list.” Here’s a list of the “boxes” you’re looking to “check off”:
LA Chargers -6.5
New England -5.5
Worst Offensive Line Ranking from PFF.com (prior to 2020 season)

L.A. Chargers – 30

BEST NFL DFS DEFENSES
Indianapolis (DK $4100, FD$4,800): Hands down the top play after their shutdown of the Vikings last week, with three interceptions off Kirk Cousins. The Colts face a Jets team that has the lowest expected team total of 16 points. If you need more reasons, the Jets offense averages the least amount of yards a game. The Colts D will have a safe floor and the upside to be the highest-scoring defense on the day.
Philadelphia (DK $2,800, FD $4,500): The Eagles are a five-point favorite over the Bengals and should be very productive on Sunday. The Bengals OL has allowed six sacks this season, and the offense has scored only 43 points. The Eagles haven’t been a great option this year, but the matchup provides plenty of value and upside against a rookie QB, especially on DK.
Tampa Bay (DK $3,700, FD $3,800): Tampa comes into the matchup with Denver’s starters Drew Lock and Courtland Sutton on the shelf. The Bucs looked great last week against a weak offense with five sacks and four turnovers. Jeff Driskel is a mobile QB, so I’d expect similar production.
San Francisco (DK $3,500, FD $4,600): Another game where a major star (Barkley) will be out, so the 49ers should take advantage of the lack of run production. Second-year QB Daniel Jones has four turnovers this season, and the offense is averaging less than 300 yards a game. A normal downside would be flying across country to play, however, the Niners stayed in a cush hotel and resort in West Virginia to avoid multiple cross-country trips (played @NYJ in Week 2). They should be well-rested, relaxed and ready to ball.
Arizona (DK $3,300, FD $3,700): The Cardinals have been a force at home over the years, and they face a depleted Lions team that travels cross-country to face them. The Cards D has seven sacks on the season. Stafford has been sacked four times this season and thrown two interceptions; one was a pick-6.
