The NBA is setting up for a return and @thebondarbrand is here to talk about what the plan is looking like and what we can expect once the players hit the court!!
What up Mafia. Another week closer to the NBA’s Orlando bubble. We have a ton of items to go over this week. Some players have opted out and others have had positive COVID tests. Some teams have shut down their training camps and it’s going to continue to be an adventure until tipoff. Also, let’s take a way too early look at some guards for the 7/30 slate.
- The Pacers have decided to sit star Victor Oladipo. He missed most of the season already.
- Landry Shamet has had a positive COVID test. His playing status is up in the air at this time.
- Lou Williams has confirmed that he is playing. Very cheap option on FanDuel opening night.
- Milwaukee, Denver, Miami and Brooklyn shut down their camps with concerns over COVID test results.
Way too Early look at the Guards for the Thursday NBA slate on FanDuel. (DraftKings has a showdown slate only at this time, without players prices.)
Mike Conley (UTAH) – Conley had been relegated to the bench earlier this year, but the last 5 games before his teammate shut the world down, he topped 30 minutes in each. With the higher priced studs, he’s almost certain to be the highest owned PG. Cash viable.
Lonzo Ball (NOP) – Ball had been flirting with triple-doubles the last two weeks of the season and with a few 50 burgers in two of the last three games. Ball will be popular, but I think he’s more of a GPP play.
Value : Clippers PGs.
Donovan Mitchell (UTAH) – Mitchell hasn’t fully stopped his beef with Rudy Gobert. So who knows if that plays out on the court. What I do know is the matchup against the paced up Pelicans can greatly benefit Mitchell. He’s priced cheaper than PG-13 and Jrue Holiday. Last game against NOP, he dropped nearly 60 FDPs.
Lou Williams (LAC) – Williams was 50/50 on playing the rest of the season due to COVID concerns. He has chosen to play and at his $4900 price tag, should be a great option against his former team. The Clippers will be without Shamet Landry, so Williams’ minutes off the bench are very secure. He will be a key for the Clippers during the playoff run.
Value: KCP or JJ Redick
NBA news is breaking every day and later this week I will look at the forward options outside of LeBron, AD and Kawhi for this slate. Be safe as each day we get closer to the return of the NBA.
