Moose breaks down DraftKings League of Legends LPL-LCK – March 25 – 02:00 AM EST
Teams to Target
When playing a DraftKings League of Legends tournament, it is important to team stack and focus on narrowing down the teams that will provide the best chance of winning. Total score is determined by kills, assists and overall player performance in each LoL game that happens on the rift, but the goal is always to aim and stack winning teams for the easiest chance at taking down cash games and GPP tournaments. We take a closer look at what teams might be able to provide us an edge.
For this slate, I highly recommend taking a closer look at LPL stacks over LCK stacks. LPL is a much more aggressive league with a lot more kills generated. You could go with a heavy favorite like DRX or Gen.G in LCK, but I would recommend focusing on the big LPL favorites.
Oh My God (-800 vs. V5) $5,600
OMG are by no means a good team, but they’re playing local punching bag V5 online. Normally, I would fade OMG, but this feels like a great spot for them and they should definitely be considered chalk on a slate where FPX is disgustingly expensive. Starters are Curse, H4cker, icon, Smlz, cold.
DragonX (-475 vs. HLE) $5,400
After you’re done stacking FPX and OMG together on a roster, look into the savings of DRX. I am not sure how DRX will play online compared to HLE, but on a raw comparison, we’re getting a great DK price on all starters. I would fade Doran and focus more on rookie Keria. Pyosik, Keria, Chovy, Deft and Doran will most likely 2-0 HLE for an easy cheaper pick.
KT Rolster (+135 vs. Damwon) $5,000 contrarian
This is my favorite value dog on the slate, and that’s not saying much. I don’t think anyone has a real great chance of winning other than TOP. Griffin and Billi Bili are both just garbage so I would look for KT’s recent emergence as our best shot at finding some dogs to win on this slate. I am not positive if they have Sohwan or Ray starting; I would instead focus on Kuro, Aiming and Tusin to make for great value stacks.
JD Gaming (-220 vs. TES) $5,200
I like JD to 2-1 or 2-0 TES, but they are expensive.
Players to Target
Player knowledge is just as important as team knowledge. Knowing where a player can shine in a line is what separates the people who cash GPPs regularly and those who fall off.
SMLZ, (OMG) $7,600 ADC
Cheap ADC that can do the dirty work we need against a bottom team. I love Deft and I know that Aiming is actually probably better than Smlz, but this is my value pick at ADC.
Icon, (OMG) $7,600 MID
Not a good player by any real means but against V5 I like the play a lot. Good cheaper mid lane player that can do work against a worse team.
Aiming, (KT) $6,200 ADC
If you are going for an upset stack feature Aiming and play him with Tusin and Kuro.
Rascal, (GEN.G) $6,800 TOP
Gen.G’s top laner is either a god or a bot. The guy is a legit player and can easily take games over. At $6,800 serious value on this slate if you are doing Gen stacks.
Kanavi and Pyosik, (JDG and DRX) $7,600 and $7,400 JNG
Any JDG or DRX stacks should have these guys if you are looking to win big tournaments. Pyosik and Kanavi are both very capable of destroying the jungle and taking over games.
Life, $5,600 (GEN.G) SUP
Guy is just disgusting when it comes to supporting. Having one of the best ADC of all time next to you in lane helps.
