St Louis got hit with severe storms yesterday and Jesse’s internet is down. Have a little different format today to cover but Jesse will be back with the usual Summary in the future.
Really good hitting conditions in pretty much every game. Winds blowing out, warm weather, and it’s one of those slates where pitching is tough to figure out but there are some great bats to pay up for.
Strasburg is clearly the top option, but he’s expensive. There’s some great hitting options to pay up for so not sure you have to go there. Would probably use him in Cash, but you’re giving up something there in bats if you do. Still, there’s not a lot of very good other options today.
Tanaka is the other top option, against the Orioles. He’s got some homerun issues and it’ll be warm there, but he also has strikeout upside, and the Orioles chase a lot of pitches, which plays into Tanaka’s hands.
Boyd will take on some high ownership today, higher than Tanaka. Prefer Tanaka over Boyd. Nine righties against Boyd and this will be a tough park to pitch in today. Strong wind out to left.
Richards is interesting. He’s an average arm but that’s good enough against a terrible Tigers offense. He’ll likely be chalky as the second arm on DK.
Ryan Weber is a Door #3. Not excited about him, but he’s ok, stretched out to 90 pitches, and he’s cheap, which allows us to get bats. He’s a guy to try to survive with, get 15 points out of him, and win with bats. Certainly scary, though.
Dylan Bundy has decent upside as a cheap option. He could get absolutely killed against a hot Yankees squad, but Bundy does have decent stuff, and the damage the Yanks have done to the Orioles lately has been against guys in Hess and Straily who have no business starting major league games.
FD didn’t include Phillies/Cubs, but on DK, this Phillies squad makes for a great stack. Love the Phillies, can steal on Lester as well.
Love the Nationals today. Turner is a must play if stacking because you can run on Matz. Rendon is a great play as well. The Mets bullpen is an atrocity.
Not as interested in the Yanks today as yesterday. They’ll be chalky – especially Morales who’s so cheap and batting cleanup – but we’re leaning using Bundy and hoping for the best.
The Pirates are interesting if you want to peel off a couple guys, especially Josh Bell, but anyone in the top four in the lineup are pretty good plays.
Lyles will be somewhat popular as a righty against the Rockies on the road, but I prefer some of these Rockies lefties.
Have interest in these righties from Miami as punt plays. You’ll get some leverage on all the Boyd ownership as well. Think there’s a decent chance the Marlins hit a couple homers today with this wind blowing out.
