- Max Scherzer – This is Scherzer’s first start back in Detroit since he left. Thats just adding fuel to what is already a dream matchup. I can’t give you any advice trying to suggest fading him, he’s thrown 12 quality starts in a row and I don’t see any way he doesn’t make it 13 here. Your only hope in fading him is that he doesn’t have 10 + strikeouts, which he’s averaged more than over his last 5 games.
- Gerrit Cole – If you want to be different in GPP’s and fade Max or Snell, who will by far be my most owned pitchers, I love Cole this afternoon. I can’t justify not spending $1300 and going up to Max but if something happens and he doesn’t kill, Cole could easily be a tournament winning pitcher tonight at low ownership.
- Blake Snell – Snell is my favorite pitcher on the slate today. If I wasn’t afraid of Max scoring 60 + FD points I would be all in. This matchup couldn’t be any better for Snell, the Rangers are one of the worst teams in the league against LHP and this game is at home. It’s hard to explain why Snell’s been so bad – his stuff still looks great – he just hasn’t been able to finish guys off after getting 2 strikes on them. I think the Rangers help him get back on track here and he has his best start of the season.
