What’s up, #EliteMafia!? Welcome to “The Early Bird,” where we’ll cover the pitchers, stacks, and one-off players you’ll need to dominate today’s early MLB DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel!
Today, this article will focus exclusively on the DraftKings/FanDuel “Early Slate” starting at 12:20 PM EST. Just a tiny five-game slate on FanDuel and DraftKings. Almost every game has high winds, which should make for plenty of homers in some places.
MLB DFS Pitchers
Corbin Burnes, RHP, Brewers ($10,600 DK / $10,800 FD)
So far this season, only COVID has been able to stop Burnes. He’s looked like a possible Cy Winner. He has at least 9 Ks in each start. On 4/8, he had 9 Ks and allowed 1 ER against the Cardinals. He has an impressive 44% K rate against the Cards in 74 PAs.
Jack Flaherty, RHP, Cardinals ($9,400 DK / $10,500 FD)
Coming into the game with 6 straight Ws and 4 QS, Flaherty has a safe floor. Against the Brewers roster, Flaherty has a 40% K rate and has held them to a .285 xwOBA in 71 PAs. Combining him with Burnes is VERY tight on DK, but it’s possible with a punt or two.
Lance Lynn, RHP, White Sox ($9,200 DK / $11,500 FD)
The third and final “ace” has the toughest matchup on paper against the Twins. On the season, Lynn has a 29% K rate, but against the Twins roster, it drops to 11%. The Twins roster has just two projected bats with a K% of 30%. Lynn is priced too high with the above two on FanDuel.
Zach Eflin, RHP, Phillies ($8,200 DK / $9,500 FD)
Michael Pineda, RHP, Twins ($7,000 DK / $8,600 FD)
Daniel Lynch, LHP, Royals ($5,700 DK / $5,600 FD)
MLB DFS Stacks
- Phillies: Corbin has been horrible this season, allowing 3.07 HR/9. The 1-8 for the Phillies all have an ISO over .230 against LHPs.
- Braves: Stripling has struggled a tad with RHHs, allowing a .233 ISO. The Braves mini stack of two of the three, Acuna, Freeman, and Ozuna are where you look. They may be hard to fit all three if you pay up, but each is a great one-off. Acuna would be the one-off if you want to use just one.
- Royals: Santana and Soler have taken Turnbull deep. This lineup has 4 bats sitting at a .400 plus wOBA against him.
