Bullpen (Phil Backert)
Phil Backert: We highlighted the Orioles like we do on most days and they once again struggled. They have now allowed 11 home runs over the last seven days. They are bad overall, but especially at home and they will continue facing the power-hitting Yankees.
Phil Backert: Opponents are batting .302 against the Brewers over the last seven days which includes four home runs.
Phil Backert: The Reds have allowed eight home runs over the last seven days. Left-handed hitters are slugging .584 since the start of July, which is the highest in baseball.
Phil Backert: The Rockies are allowing the highest slugging percentage to right-handed hitters since the start of July. Righties are slugging .529 and the Rockies are now set to face the Astros.
Hitting (Vlad Sedler & Brian Healy)
@Healy, Congrats on the nice payday last night…so we can get a better sense of your article…you didn’t list the Yankees you played, outside of Didi in your stack suggestions or player pool and Torres was your difference maker
how should we go about using your article better?
Healy: preferred plays from each stack are guys i’m using across a majority of them. Ideally if you were building a single lineup and utilizing said stack i would incorporate the preferred plays. Last night i build 9 total lineups 4 had full 4 man yankee stacks. one was a 1-4, another 2-5, next 1,3,4,5 and last one was utilizing bottom of lineup as it was one that allowed me to pair with brewers top bats.
So do you select pitchers after putting in your stack?
Healy: plug and play, as i’m going to throw builds and trying to pair stacks i like i then see whats left for SP. If one of my SP are in range then i plug them in. If no one is in particular range then work on reconstruction.
who are the gpp pitchers to go with tonight
Vlad Sedler: Greinke, Lester (yuck but wind blowing in; like the matchup), Marquez could work too. If cheap, options stink but possibly Cashner.
MIL hitters looked good last night, any interest in going back to that well, Brault isn’t scary
Vlad Sedler: Not opposed to MLW…didn’t list them but yea, Brault sucks.
Vlad Sedler: I usually don’t go out of my way for Brewers against lefties though. Very middle of the pack.
any love for a low owned Padres stack tonight?
Healy: i do if they are in fact low owned but i suspect renfroe/machado carry decnet ownership (~15%)
Healy: Red Sox went from my #2 stack to outside my top 5 with that lineup they are rolling out.
Reds v Angels looks good
Dodgers v mikolas?
Vlad Sedler: Was just gonna say – Mikolas is horrendous on the road. Won’t be too warm here in L.A. but a nice low % stack.
Vlad Sedler: No Yelich for Brew-Crew today, further lowers their ownership
what’s today’s “gut” call, Vlad?
Vlad Sedler: Gut is that chalky Yankees and some Red Sox go off, Renfroe homer and that couple of 2% Royals and Blue Jays bats go off
is Puig really chalky tonight?
Vlad Sedler: Puig won’t be chalky, no. Like 10%
I’m looking at a few Nats. Rendon, Dozier, and Gomes (for DK). Anyone else you’d include in a stack?
Vlad Sedler: I’d go Turner up top
