Bullpen (Phil Backert)
Phil Backert: The Nationals have the best ERA over the last seven days. However, I’m not buying it. This is a unit we have targeted all season long with great success. If we look closer, their xFIP is 4.10 which is over two points higher than their ERA. They have the highest left on base percentage over the last week at 93.8 which we know they can’t sustain. Finally, they are allowing the hardest hit percentage over this span as well at 51.7 percent.
Orioles are easy one too against the Astros
For GPPs.Jacob deGrom is pitching for the Mets tonight so ownership will be extremely low, but the Mets bullpen has been bad. They are allowing a 60 percent fly ball percentage over the last seven days which is clearly the highest and an opponents batting average of .327. Right-handed hitters are slugging .457 against the unit this season.
so nats and orioles? appears Pitt is the worst bullpen? we attacking them tonight? do we attack them with lefities?
Phil Backert: Pitt is allowing the highest slugging percentage to lefties this season. i always love going against them
Hitting (Vlad Sedler)
Homer Bailey viable today on DK?
Vlad Sedler: I keep defaulting to Homer B on main lineup to get offense in but obviously scared. He will be top-4 owned on DK
Vlad Sedler: Most will go 1 of Cole/deGrom/Kershaw + Homer in cash. Some wanting to get monster offenses in will go Woodruff/Homer
Vlad heard you love philly bats. Sad face. I’m pitching mahle
Vlad Sedler: Yep, love Phillies bats. But acknowledge that Mahle is good enough to stifle them. They don’t have many scary lefties outside of Harper/Bruce, so if you neutralize them, it’s a win.
Is the KC Whitesox game gonna go over 10 runs?
Vlad Sedler: I don’t think KC/CHW goes over 10
Vlad Sedler: You don’t want to go Pineda/Bailey
Yelich, Trout, ?
Vlad Sedler: Yelich, Trout, Harper, Bregman
Vlad Sedler: My concern is that Marco G has a good start out of nowhere. I don’t want to go too many Angels.
any changes to your FD core 4?
Vlad Sedler: No changes. I just popped them into my SE lineup
do you mostly build your stacks from your “favorite stack” list or from your “sneaky stacks” list?
Vlad Sedler: From the favorite stack list. Only issue is I write that late night, night before. So I try to pop in chat everyday after I see lineups to update. Honestly my best gut feels are usually 2 hours before slate starts. Like yesterday, had a feeling that Lambert was gonna shut down Cubs in his debut so made a Lambert team and faded all Cubs.
Vlad Sedler: Kershaw my main SP today
Vlad Sedler: Markakis and Albies are both ice ice cold right now.
favorite mini stack today?
Vlad Sedler: I liked Yelich, Mous, Grandal, Shaw a lot. Olson/K.Davis together with Trout. GPP mini stack I like as super contrarian since expensive: Rendon, Soto, Kendrick. Can go Trea or Eaton, or Suzuki at bottom.
Vlad Sedler: PHI lineup out…souring on PHI stack a bit. Harper 2nd, Bruce 6th.
you think toronto lights up kelly?
Vlad Sedler: I think they could. Small sample but check out his Home/Road splits, it’s wild. 2.35 ERA at home, 7.34 on road LOL. 19 BB on road (29 IP), 4 BB at home (38 IP). One of those road starts was Coors, but he also got blown up for 7 ER @ TB.
who is your favorite pairing with grichuk? vlad or biggio?
Vlad Sedler: I’d go Vlad for the power upside. Kelly allows more power to RHH’s
D. Santana and Encarnacion both going deep tonight vlad
Vlad Sedler: Love it! Ency great history vs Heaney too. First gut on Heaney last night was that this 3rd start won’t be as smooth as the first two. But then again I also had a gut feel on MLW chalk getting busted by Rookie Davis and the bullpen so what do I know?
hahaha im making a rookie davis lineup
Vlad Sedler: No, no. I wouldn’t PLAY Rookie Davis. And I’d lean towards MLW stack over playing him. But you know how this stuff goes. One of the hitter chalk stacks will go bust, and on a 14-game slate, good to mix it up. Or at the very least just have 1 of your 3 main lineups with no MLW
