Bullpens pitch 40% of all Major League innings and are often forgotten about by people when making lineup decisions. Here at elitefantasy, we’re committed to providing 100% analysis of pitching, not just the 60% you’ll find elsewhere!
FanGraphs relievers stats over the last seven days:
The Nationals bullpen is allowing the highest hard hit percentage over the last seven days at 57.1 percent. That isn’t surprising as we have picked on them all season, but they are limiting damage as they have the best swinging strike percentage in this span at 17.8 percent and the second highest strikeout percentage at 29.2 percent.
The Pirates bullpen has allowed eight home runs over the last seven days and a hard hit percentage of 48 percent. We can continue to target this unit with confidence.
I mentioned the Mets bullpen on Monday, but with so many teams idle, I wanted to reiterate. They check all of the boxes that we look at when attacking a particular unit. Over the last seven days, they have allowed a hard hit percentage of 50.9 percent and a high walk percentage of 13.2 percent. They have an insane flyball percentage of 55.6 percent and opponents are batting .369 during this span. They take on the Giants who aren’t a great offensive team, but San Francisco did take advantage of a bad pitching staff in the Orioles over the weekend.
