Bullpens pitch 40% of all Major League innings and are often forgotten about by people when making lineup decisions. Here at elitefantasy, we’re committed to providing 100% analysis of pitching, not just the 60% you’ll find elsewhere!
FanGraphs relievers stats over the last seven days:
Since we’ve started covering the last seven days for each bullpen, I’m not sure a unit has allowed as many home runs as the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays have allowed 14 home runs over the last seven days which covers 31 innings. They are allowing a hard hit percentage of 42.1 percent and opponents are batting .364. To put this in perspective, two units we have targeted all season in the Orioles and Tigers have “only” allowed eight home runs over the last seven days.
The Rangers have allowed a hard hit percentage of 45.8 percent over the last seven days which has led to an opponents batting average of .305. The unit still does not miss any bats with a low swinging strike percentage of 7.9 percent during this span.
That Nationals bullpen continues to be atrocious as they have a 12.05 ERA over the last seven days with an opponents batting average of .329. They have a walk percentage of 11.3 percent as well.
The Pirates had to cover 32.1 innings over the last seven days. They didn’t miss many bats either with a low swinging strike percentage of 9.5 percent. Left-handed hitters are slugging .498 against the unit this season which is the highest in baseball.
