Your complete guide to tomorrow morning’s 4-match LPL/LCK DFS slate on DraftKings.
Happy Father’s Day to all of my fellow padres out there…let’s have us a day!
My projections for tomorrow morning’s 4-match LPL/LCK slate are already loaded into the EliteFantasy.com LoL optimizer and lineup builder.
We must touch on these LPL/LCK split slates for a moment. If you decide to play these slates, please understand that LCK teams do not announce their starting lineups until about an hour before their match. You must be sure to check these lineups if you’re rostering players from the LCK.
Now, the LPL teams, on average, score more fantasy points than the LCK teams and it’s not really close. If you want to play it safe, there is nothing wrong with rostering stacks from the two LPL teams you think will win their respective matches. We don’t want to game stack on 4-match slates, but with 2 LPL matches and 2 LCK matches, you can feel a little more comfortable rostering 2 LPL stacks.
Lineup Trends and Build Rules
If you’ve missed my past articles, I’ve gone over four “rules” I use when building lineups on a 4-match slate, as well as tips on how to utilize the optimizer to help you to implement them.
Rule #1: Use only ADC or MID in your CAPT spot.
In 30 DK slates of 4 or 5 matches since early March, a Jungler only appeared as CAPT three times (10%) in the winning/optimal lineup. Support (twice), Top (once), and Team (never) were also rarely featured as the optimal CAPT.
Tip: In the optimizer, you can simply remove all of the TOP/JNG/SUP/TEAM captains from your player pool.
Rule #2: Have at least one 3-man stack in all of your lineups.
In 30 DK slates since early March, only 11 times (37%) was the winning/optimal lineup a 4-3 build. A 4-2-1 build was optimal 10 times (33%), and a 3-3-1 build 5 times (17%).
Tip: In the optimizer, you can set all lineups to use a 3 or 4-man stack under “Advanced Options” >> “Team Stacks” >> “Add Stack” >> “Stack Size: 3 (or 4) players” & “Add all (teams)”.
Rule #3: Make sure to have two other position players stacked with your CAPT. When a CAPT has so many kills, his teammates are generally piling up the assists, or vice versa.
The optimal CAPT had at least 2 other position players in 23 of 30 (77%) optimal lineups.
Tip: You can set a rule in the optimizer to set all CAPT to be stacked with at least 2 players. “Advanced Options” >> “Position Stacks” >> “Stack CAPT with at least 2 players of TOP/JNG/MID/ADC/SUP from same team”.
Rule #4: Pay attention to correlations.
The top three correlated positions on 4-5 match slates are: JNG+MID, JNG+ADC, ADC+SUP
Tip #1: To put this more simply: a 4-man stack that includes the JNG/MID/ADC/SUP (possibly with either MID or ADC in CAPT) is going to be the most optimal 4-man stack on the bigger slates.
Some other settings I like to use when MME’ing on a 4-5 match slate:
- 2-3 unique players per lineup
- Minimum salary of $45,000-46,000
- Offensive players vs. TEAM pos – 0 players
- Randomness around 10-15%
- Players from Game MAX – 4
- Limit Opposing Players – 0
Tomorrow afternoon’s slate features four matches from the LPL & LCK:
LPL: Suning (-235) vs. Rogue Warriors (+170)
- Projected kills (per my model): SUN 17.3 – RW 11.9
LPL: Invictus Gaming (-180) vs. Edward Gaming (+130)
- Projected kills (per my model): EDG 15.4 – IG 11.3
LCK: KT Rolster (+225) vs. Gen.G eSports (-325)
- Projected kills (per my model): GEN 10.0 – KT 7.1
LCK: SeolHaeOne Prince (+210) vs. DAMWON Gaming (-300)
- Projected kills (per my model): DWG 14.8 – SHO 11.9
Lineup Building Process
On these bigger slates, I would recommend starting your lineup with a 4-man stack using JNG/MID/ADC/SUP. So you would either go:
- CAPT (ADC) – JNG – MID – SUP
- CAPT (MID) – JNG – ADC – SUP
- JNG – MID – ADC – SUP
In non-4/3 lineup builds, ADC or TEAM is the solo position in ~70% of optimal lineups (35% each). Therefore, if you’re using builds 2 or 3 above, I’d recommend making the TEAM spot your solo bullet if you want to go 4-2-1. If using build #1 above, ADC or TEAM would be the one-off.
With that in mind, here are my player rankings by position – these are value rankings based on point per dollar:
- CAPT: huanfeng (SUN), Hope (EDG), Angel (SUN)
- TOP: Aodi (EDG), bin (SUN), Nuguri (DWG)
- JNG: SofM (SUN), JunJia (EDG), Canyon (DWG)
- MID: Angel (SUN), Scout (EDG), ShowMaker (DWG)
- ADC: huanfeng (SUN), Hope (EDG), HyBriD (APK)
- SUP: SwordArt (SUN), Meiko (EDG), BeryL (DWG)
- TEAM: Gen.G, Suning, DAMWON Gaming
The chalk should be DAMWON Gaming and Invictus Gaming.
As you can tell, my model likes Edward Gaming a lot more than the sportsbooks do. They’re an LPL team, so they have a confirmed starting lineup, and they are a nice leverage play against the Invictus chalk.
I have Suning as having the highest projected kills on the slate, so I’ll have a lot of them, as well.
