What up, What up?
Guess what? You should have two free transfers for your team. I know I do. I’m glad because there are some changes.
Let’s have a look at the game slate for this upcoming week:
Obviously, we’d like to have as many players as possible from the biggest favorites but those are five of the top six teams in the league. Of course we want pieces of them. Shockingly, Liverpool and City are the top two.
How about goal scoring odds?
A couple of numbers that stood out to me:
Bernardo Silva at +105 is something that makes me want to consider him more for FPL, especially for this week and his upcoming fixtures. He is part of their best 11.
Sebastian Haller is a bonafide superstar in this league. Chicharito is now in Spain. The forward position is his. I’m fine picking him up.
Patrick Cutrone got in really good positions and at 5.8k…definitely worth a flier if you want upside.
Sadio Mane is keeping it rolling. Expensive at 11.5k, and I’d prefer Salah and Sterling, but if you need someone just below that level, Mane is your man.
This wouldn’t be a bad spot to pick up Aguero. He’s in great form, scoring goals and will keep his job should he continue. Love this spot specifically against Norwich City.
Tammy Abraham has been a popular add but I’m just nervous with their fixture congestion and the options behind him (Giroud, Batshuayi) so I’m not going there.
Speaking of transfers, here are the top transfers in and out this week if you want to follow the herd.
Look, this game is HARD. Ignore my standing in the Elite Fantasy league (16 of 21) because as I say all along, it’s a LONG game. Here is a look at the DREAM TEAM from Game Week 4:
Some plays were obvious (Alexander-Arnold, Aguero, De Bruyne) and others came out of left field. (Robinson, Masuaku, Fabianski)
As always, do some self evaluation. Did your transfer work out? If not, why not? Was it a transfer for the short or long term? Do you like your team as is and are you able to tweak one player every week to get you where you want to go?
One last piece that I want to touch on before sending you all on your way. As we get further and further into the season, it’s important to consider two things: Injuries and Schedule.
Injuries are pretty obvious but you need to take into consideration the player and their history. For example, Anthony Martial. He’s likely to play this week but has never been injury free through a whole season. Even further than that, if he starts to feel a little nibble at something, he’ll just bail on the game. Now, I’m a huge fan, and he’s on my roster, but I know the situation and have decided based on his price and his potential output it’s worth the risk.
Now how about fixtures? Well, for Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea, Champions League starts next week. These games take place on Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the season. It’s an extra taxation on their squad depth that other teams don’t have to play.
For United and Arsenal, it’s even worse. Europa League starts as well and it’s the same deal as the Champs League but the games are on Thursday nights and often require EXTREME travel. Just look at Manchester United’s group. AZ Alkmaar is from Holland. FC Astana is from Kazakhstan. (High Five!) Partizan Belgrade are from frickin’ Serbia. That’s a million miles and more. Again, taxing on the squad depth.
All of this travel is tough on their legs AND could require managers to rotate their teams more. Just an FYI!
OK, that should give you enough information to be dangerous out there. Good luck! But not too much luck…I’m moving up that leaderboard this week.
