Morning! Well I said that we’d be foolish to expect a repeat of the 6-2 thriller between United and Leeds but a 0-0 draw? Gross. There were only a few chances on either side but both teams looked content to take the point and move on with their season.
Man City dominated Spurs and captured the EFL Cup trophy. Another piece of hardware for Pep and Man City. Another disappointing cup exit for Spurs. It was always a bold move, removing the manager just before a final, but surely the move was made to inject some attacking verve to the side. Ryan Mason’s side managed just a 0.04 xG. That’s zero point ZERO FOUR. Essentially we all woke up this morning and were as close to scoring on City as Spurs were after playing 90 minutes. Pathetic.
We do have UCL action on T/W but I have one more EPL article before we get to those. Leicester and Crystal Palace play on Monday. If it feels like we just saw Leicester it’s because we did. They just played to a 3-0 lopsided win v West Brom on Thursday. It’s a quick turn around but they are rightly big favorites here.
This should be relatively one way traffic. Leicester returned home and put it on West Brom. The obvious worries about another late season collaps seem a bit over dramatized after that result and it’s a boost they’ll look to carry into this fixture.
Leicester have had the better of this fixture over the last few years but the timing of this match is what intrigues me. Palace are 13th in the table with games against City, Arsenal and Liverpool remaining AFTER this game against Leicester. Realistically they’ll be happy with 4 points from those 4 games.
Barnes and Justin are still out for Leicster. There are no new injuries for Palace but they have quite a full training room. Palace literally took only 1 shot against Chelsea. They had just 6 shots against West Brom. Against Spurs it was just 5. Against Man United it was up to 8 but they couldn’t find the back of the net. In total they have just 4 goals from their last 6 games.
I expect a Leicester win but they just need the points. It doesn’t have to be beautiful or impressive. Just get the points.
- Tielemans – LEI – $9k
- Welllllll I guess tielemans is the man on set pieces. I had that very wrong on Thursday but we adjust and get better. At this price he seems locked in for Cash CPT.
- Iheanacho – LEI – $11.4k
- CAN’T STOP SCORING.
- Vardy – LEI – $10k
- He’s back. 4 shots. 1 goal. 1 assist. Big game Vardy is back and has by far the best goal scoring odds on the slate. Also a slight price break from Iheanacho.
- Maddison – LEI – $10.8k
- Doesn’t quite look like himself and honestly looks a bit neutered with his responsibilities.
- Benteke – CP – $6.6k
- The big man is one of the best in the air in Europe. Anything can happen and DID against Chelsea in a game that was absolutely 1 way traffic.
- Tielemans – CASH AND GPP
- Maddison – CASH AND GPP
- Castagne – CASH AND GPP
- Eze – CASH AND GPP
- Ndidi – CASH AND GPP
- Pereira – CASH AND GPP
- Van Aanholt
- Milivojevic – CASH AND GPP
- Fofana – CASH AND GPP
