Duke’s EPL DFS Preview for Sunday…
Remember all the mushy stuff I wrote in the last article? That goes right out the window when you whiff on James Rodriguez in cash at over 50% owned. I can argue the merits of James in cash based on team news but I’ll save you the time. Like I said in the chat, I’ll use James in GPP and Digne in cash. My cash went up in flames and my GPP was great. It is what it is. Will I use James in that situation again? I’m not sure even after seeing what he did today. As always, I’ll provide the analysis and you make the decision. Let’s kick some Sunday booty.
To the desert…
- Arsenal -190 | 2.5 (-110o/-110u)
- Sheffield Utd +525
- DRAW +310
- Wolves -200 | 2,2.5 (-120o/EVENu)
- Fulham +600
- DRAW +315
Sheffield aren’t as bad as they’ve looked and Arsenal are by no means invincible. The good news for Arsenal is that they appear to be handling teams they should beat rather comfortably. That is the key to a top 4 season. While Sheffield were great last season, they are yet to live up to those standards this year. New signing Ryan Brewster will help in the attack but I’m not so sure he jumps right into the first 11.
I’d be shocked at any other result than a draw or Arsenal win.
Not to be crass but what the fuck are Fulham doing? Are they simply punting the season? If so, I commend them. There are so many teams that come up to the Prem, spend frivolously and then move into financial ruin once they inevitably move back down to the championship. Shad Khan is one of my favorite humans on earth, let alone owners. Good on Fulham for getting her but welcome to the Peter Principle baby.
Wolves win this game…full stop.
Aubameyang/Jimenez – ARS/WOL – $11.1/$11
I love this argument. For 1, you aren’t playing both unless it’s a deeper GPP so it’s time to choose up. Aubameyang has 4 shots through 3 games and Jimenez has 10. Jimenez has 2 goals and Auba has 1. Both have 2 games in which they scored and a dud in which they didn’t. These are absolutely GPP plays but when choosing just 1, I’ll take Jimenez.
Mitrovic – FUL – $8.6k
#1 – you know he’ll get close to, if not all, 90 minutes. Against Wolves you need big bodies on set pieces
#2 – This is SOOOO expensive for a player of his ability but it’s a hell of a lot less than the $11k+ of the idiots above him.
#3 – I’m NOT playing him in cash but will have a ton in GPP.
Cavaleiro – FUL – $5.7k
Cash option who has a touch of set pieces with some open play value.
Brewster – SHU – $5.3k
Sheffield do have a touch of an intricate pressing system so maybe he doesn’t slot right in but if he does, he’s the best value option on the board.
Traore – WOL – $10.1k
Strictly a GPP play but he’s the best 1 v 1 dribbler on the slate. That creates chances. Chances create goals. I get it but I’m not going there in cash.
Lundstram – SHU – $5.8k
It’s not sexy but it’s damn effective.
Cairney – FUL – $4.1k
Another boring cash play but you could sneak him into GPP as well. He’s surprisingly played 90 minutes in both games he’s played.
Burke – SHU – $3.6k
For the same reason we played him last time and go 1.5x – this is too cheap.
Moutinho – WOL – $6.8k
Cash option if you are in this range. You shouldn’t be.
Bryan – FUL – $6k
I worried about the impact of others on Bryan after team new last week and that was all for not. He still got to 12.1 pts and over 2x. Let’s hope for the same here.
Robinson – SHU – $2.6k
It’s a long shot punt but the position is weak. He did create 3 shots against Leeds.
Stevens – SHU – $4.9k
Solid but not a core play by any means. Those who try to predict the big Stevens weak will likely go broke. I’ll have shares but not much.
Semedo – WOL – $5.1k
He’s sneaky good this week. They looked awful last week as a whole so I won’t hold it against him. This is expensive but still a surprisingly small contrarian play.
Patricio – WOL – $5.7k
Ramsdale – SHU – $3.9k
Leno – ARS – $5.5k
