What a wild Sunday. Wolves and City were both massive favorites and get absolutely smashed. I almost never go BIG with any bets early because there is so much up for grabs. Players are worried about new boys coming in and taking their places. One mistake could make the manager look to the transfer market. Regardless, it was an easy cash for me in cash both days this weekend so we’ll look to keep it rolling on Monday.
Just a two game slate again. The same principles from today apply. In GPP – go nuts. Vardy was the slate breaker and barely owned. Mason Mount did it Saturday. Don’t be afraid to get creative.
To the desert…
Fulham stink. It’s not surprising to see an 0-2 start to life in the Prem but to concede 7 goals in 2 games is a bit scary for Fulham fans. How bad could this season get? In this match they’ll be battling another team simply hoping to avoid relegation and will need to find some way to grab all 3 points here at home.
Wesley and Heaton are still out for Villa. Dean Smith doesn’t often change a side who wins so the team that we saw last time out will likely get a run out again. Plan accordingly. The lone exception might be the exciting transfer, Betrand Traore. He scored on his debut in that midweek contest and has big time experience at this level for his age. Trezeguet was very average and those two would swap places should Traore start.
Take this for what it’s worth but Fulham have won their last 5 home matches against villa. Stylistically, this is going to be a very interesting match. I do like what I saw from Ollie Watkins in the attack for Villa even though he didn’t score. He’s a massive upgrade at the position over what they had. Especially compared to the other match on the slate, this is a low total
These are two of my top 5 teams in the league at the moment. To say I’m looking forward to this would be an understatement. Sure, Liverpool are the returning champs and the big home favorite here but would an Arsenal win surprise you? After today’s results? No. In general, yes.
We are seeing that perhaps Arteta played a bigger part in Pep and Man City’s success than many originally thought. Arsenal are on the rise and have a couple of transfer rumors that would take them to the next level if they can get over the line.
As for the game itself, both teams come in with essentially no massive injury news. Joel Matip is out and Joe Gomez is questionable so that second CB spot for Liverpool could be a worry. Tierney is carrying a knock so it’s like to be Saka manning the left wing back role for Arsenal.
I have both teams scoring here in a game that’s averaged 5 goals per game over their last 5. Each of those matches saw both teams find the back of the net.
Liverpool win 3-1
- Aubameyang – ARS – $8.3k
He’s such a discount to the 2 big dogs for Liverpool that he’s worth it. He can survive just scoring a goal or grabbing an assist. Salah and Mane need more. I do have Arsenal scoring here and Auba is the most likely.
- Salah – LIV – $10.8k
So far he and Mane have yo-yoed game scripts. Mane bags 2 last game after Salah grabs 3 in the first. It’s not as simple as it being Salah’s turn but Salah did have big chances again last time out. We know they love to attack down the right and Saka is a young boy learning his trade, even though he’s very talented. I’ll take Salah over Mane but both really good plays.
- Watkins – AVL – $6.2k
I might get him at close to no ownership after his last performance because he didn’t produce from a fantasy standpoint but I todl the chat I really liked what I saw. He was having to do too much hold up play and in this match will be able to spend more time in the box and get chances to score. I’ll back him to bag one at this price.
- Saka – ARS – $5.3k
Very cheap Forward in cash. He will likely line up at the left wing back rold in this system. Obviously he can fill a M role as well but in my builds he’s at F. Great to stack with Willian/Laca/Auba.
- Pepe – ARS – $6.7k
Arsenal keep winning so i expect Arteta to keep the roster the same but Pepe has been coming off the bench and providing a spark. He also has taken over all set pieces when he comes in. If he starts for Willian, I’m going there at this price.
- Grealish – AVL – $8.9k
He’s such a floor player at the moment that it’s hard to justify this price in GPP but he’s part of a AVL stack. In cash I’m fine going here as a pivot off of Salah/Mane but I would rather pay down for Aubameyang in GPP.
- Ceballos – ARS – $4.7k
He’s a cheaper option at the position that we’ll likely have to find cheap options. He’s right in line with Saka in terms of value for me. He did pick up the assist against City but for me, it was the 4 interceptions and 3 tackles that he won that are encouraging. If he can add a better base of defensive stats with his passing prowess this price will go up.
- Hourinhane – AVL – $7.2k
This is simply too expensive for his upside but in cash you’re getting basically a set piece monopoly from 1 of 2 favorites. This really puts TAA and Robo’s price in perspective. Take both over him.
- Wijanldum – LIV – $3.6k
Fabinho is fine here as well but I’ll take the savings and exposure to Liverpool through Gini. He nearly bagged a goal last time out but headed over the bar if my memory serves me. There are some other super punt options down here but none on a -220 favorite.
- Trezeguet – AVL – $5.4k
I wish this were $4.5k and I’d be more about it. He has his moments. (see the last 4 games of last year) but is largely on the periphery in this system. If the ball falls to his feet he knows what to do with it. Consider him a poor man’s Lucas Moura.
- Alexander-Arnold – LIV – $7.6k
On a short slate I’m taking guaranteed points. I mentioned it with the Hourihane breakdown but just pay this price and punt elsewhere.
- Robertson – LIV – $6.6k
Playing both LIV FBs likely means fading the attackers which is going to be tough but in GPP along with some attackers from the other match I’m all for it.
- Bryan – FUL – $5.1k
We do love our defenders who take set pieces but while he has the lion’s share, they don’t take many and once again find themselves as underdogs. This is is a relegation fight and one of the better chances for Fulham to grab points. I’m good paying htis.
- Cash – AVL – $4.6k
If you want to dip slightly lower in price, I’m going with either of Cash or Targett but the slight savings has me leaning Cash here.
- Bellerin – ARS – $3.5k
Especially if they play with wing-backs, this is good value for the money. Grab shares.
- Leno – ARS – $3.9k
I might never pay up at GK again. Arsenal does have “some” win equity. Worth the price.
- Martinez – AVL – $4.8k
My favorite spend up and he’s under $5k. Until I see Fulham have some ability in the final third i’ll keep rostering GKs against them.
