- 49ers DST, DK Price $2700, Target Score 10.8 DK Points, Projected Ownership 2%
This is my favorite play of the entire week. The 49ers have had a cake schedule so far but I’m still absolutely enamored with this defense. Nick Bosa on the edge has made a world of difference and this front line is absolutely loaded. The 49ers don’t need to blitz to get pressure, and I think they’re going to give Jared Goff all kinds of headaches on Sunday. He’s been among the league’s worst QBs when taking more than 2.5 seconds to throw the football and the 49ers, with their coverage happy scheme, should take away Goff’s first option more often than not. Without his mommy McVay’s first option open, Goff will take sacks and throw into coverage, enabling the 2% owned 49ers defense to put up the top score at DST on this slate. It’s a GPP winner and the 49er DST will be on every team I make.
2. Le’Veon Bell, Jets RB, DK Price $6400, Target Score 25.6 DK Points, Projected Ownership 10%
We’re 5 weeks into the season, and the leader in percentage of offensive yards is Le’Veon Bell, who has over 50% of the Jets yardage on the season. This is the same guy that was $8000-$10,000 on DraftKings two years ago. No, the offense is not as productive, but Bell is still a massive bell cow running back who is an odds on favorite to see 25+ touches each and every week. The matchup this week against the Cowboys is mediocre, but its much better than the 4 tough matchups he’s had so far. He also get Sam Darnold back under center. Darnold is nothing special but he’s a hell of a lot better than Luke Falk and Le’Veon should easily rack up 150+ total yards here.
3. Stefon Diggs, MN WR, DK Price $5900, Target Score 22.6 DK Points, Projected Ownership 3%
Dalvin Cook has been in this column or a highly recommended play the first 5 weeks of the season. Hopefully you’ve profited from that. This week we pivot. The Eagles have a ferocious front and I don’t think the Vikings can get it going on the ground. But Kirk Cousins is WAY better at home and Diggs is one of the two realistic options at WR for the Vikings. He hasn’t done much this season yet but the talent is unquestioned and he’s fully healthy right not. There is absolutely no reason he can’t bust out for a 30 point DK game at super low ownership. Buy the dip.
4. Miles Sanders, PHI RB, DK Price $4200, Target Score 16.8 DK Points, Projected Ownership 2%
I was down on Miles Sanders as a seasonal player all offseason, as I just could not invest a 6th round pick in a player in a huge committee backfield. That’s proven wise so far, as the Eagles have used 3 and 4 man backfields just as they always do. But this week, Darren Sproles and Corey Clement are both out, which should leave all the backfield touches to Jordan Howard and Miles Sanders. I don’t see Howard getting going on the ground vs Minny, which should mean a ton of Miles Sanders in the pass catching role and in catch up mode as I think the Vikings’ passing offense gets going here. I’ve heard literally zero hype on Sanders but he’s got a nice floor this week and also a 30 DK point ceiling. I like. I like it a lot.
5. Tyreek Hill, KC WR, DK Price $6900, Target Score 26.6 DK Points, Projected Ownership 5%
We don’t even know for sure that Tyreek will play on Sunday but as your resident Chiefs expert my STRONG suspicion is that he will. Tyreek broke his collarbone in week 1 and has been practicing for a couple weeks, despite being expected to miss 6-8 weeks with the injury. Based on the video I’ve seen and the reports from Chiefs reporters, I’m convinced Tyreek will play at 100% if he’s cleared to go. I think it’s just a matter of the X-Ray showing that the bone is fully healed. They’re listing him as questionable right now, but don’t the Chiefs have the information they need on whether or not he can play? In my opinion they are playing coy with Tyreek and they know he’s a 100% full go. Assuming he’s active, I’m all in on Tyreek.
6. Kirk Cousins, MIN QB, DK Price $5200, Target Score 20.8 DK Points, Projected Ownership 4%
For many of the same reasons as Stefon Diggs, I believe Kirk Cousins at a super cheap price point is very much in play. Nobody can run on the Eagles and that should lead to a high pass volume for the Vikings against a suspect Eagles secondary. Cousins has been shit on all year but the man still has a very high percentage of games exceeding 300 yards passing and he’s easy to pair with Diggs and Thielen. Buy low opportunity at home here where Cousins has been MUCH better over the course of his career.
7. Kyler Murray, ARZ QB, DK Price $6500, Target Score 24 DK Points, Projected Ownership 10%
It’s been an up and down ride for the rookie, but the recent signs look good. Coach Kilff Kingsbury has finally realized that Kyler’s best asset is his legs and we’ve seen him pick up the rushing attempts and yards week over week. Now he gets a Falcons defense at home that is just abysmal, and we should see Murray eat this team alive. Throw in a banged up David Johnson and it should be an even more pass happy offense than usual. Kyler is “overpriced” on DraftKings and that will hold his ownership way lower than it should be given the upside he brings to the table in a potential shootout.
8. Odell Beckham Jr., DK Price $6800, Target Score 25.4 DK Points, Projected Ownership 10%
Are people really giving up on this guy already? Yes, Baker Mayfield is overrated, and yes, the Browns are overrated in general. But OBJ had historic production with Eli Manning and the results will come for him. He’s in a much better matchup than last week and he’s calling for the ball. Watch him catch a slant and follow his heels and elbows into the end zone for a 70 yard touchdown this week.
9. Travis Kelce, KC TE, DK Price $7000, Target Score 28 DK Points, Projected Ownership 10%
Kelce may come in higher than 10% but I do not care. He’s been extremely “unlucky” in terms of touchdowns so far but are we really thinking that Kelce just doesn’t score TDs anymore? That’s ridiculous. I like him more if Tyreek is in as that opens up the middle of the field for Kelce. He’s the best tight end in football with the best QB in football throwing him the rock. Yeah, I’m in.
10. Patrick Mahomes
