With no Monster Energy Cup racing this week, we’ll turn our attention to the Xfinity Series instead!!
- Road America in Wisconsin, 45 Lap Race
- Saturday 8/24 3:00pm EST
- 4 mile Road Course
Notes: DiBenedetto will be racing a Joe Gibbs car today. Also, place a lot of weight on place differential and finishing today and less on dominator (laps led and fastest lap) due to this only being a 45 lap race.
LAST RACE NOTABLES
- Allgaier won.
- Laps Led: Allgaier led 14 laps, Tifft led 12 laps.
- Start/Finish: Allgaier 11/1, Hemric 12/3, Sadler 17/5, Chastain 16/7, Grala 18/11, Annett 19/12, Legge 26/14, Smithley 31/15, Labbe 27/16, Ellis 28/17, Gase 30/19, Boyd 37/21, Finchum 36/22
I am going to take the same approach to Xfinity series as I do for the big dogs. To put this into perspective for you, the Xfinity series is like the minor leagues of the Monster Energy Cup series.
Take these statements as pros or cons. Your call. The cars are similar, yet very different from the Monster Cup cars. Driver list will be different each week. They have rules that only allow the Monster Energy guys to race a certain number of Xfinity races. These guys are less experienced and typically less consistent.
All this stuff is blah blah blah, I know. So with all that being said, the point here is to build some winning lineups……..SO LET’S FUCKING DO THIS!!!
Timing is difficult here for Xfinity. They typically qualify and start the race within hours. So I am assigning a value to drivers I like. Guys who could dominate and win, solid drivers and GPP or risky plays.
You will need to check the starting lineups before making final decisions. It’s marked on DK after qualifying so that shouldn’t be a problem. For example, typically you would not want to start a low end guy who is starting 4th, where it is very unlikely for him to finish top 5.
I am trying to narrow things down for you. Too much information can just be confusing. If you need more information, you can look at the projections tab.
Take a look at the scoring to better understand why I do it this way:
Drivers will accumulate points as follows:
- Place Differential = +/- 1 PTs
- Fastest Laps = +0.5 PTs
- Laps Led = +0.25 PTs
- Finishing Position Scoring (winner 46pts, 2nd42pts, 3rd41, 4th40, 39,38,37 etc…)
We are definitely going to need to see where these guys are starting before we lock them in. Also going to be looking for young guys running on top teams. RCR Racing/Joe Gibbs Racing/JR Motorsports/Chip Ganassi Racing…etc….
*Starting positions are posted on DK after qualifying*
