Let’s transition into the Wednesday slate and talk about some potential options for how to handle the 4 game slate…
Well, boys, 0-2 on the bets, but we gotta feel good about where stand from a DFS perspective. The top 2 scorers on the day were Messi/Ronaldo. Ziyech finished with 18.25 points. Ter Stegen picked up 16 huge points. Veltman with 9.5 points at under $4k.
Let’s transition into the Wednesday slate and talk about some potential options for how to handle the 4 game slate.
Let’s head to the desert.

- Previous result: Liverpool 2 – Porto 0
Not many surprises in this game other than who scored the goals. We knew Liverpool would be sharp in attack, especially at home. We knew Porto would sit and try to hold on for dear life. I didn’t expect the game to be as lopsided as it was. 64% possession with 15 shots by Liverpool is pretty dominant. Porto popped off only 8 shots but actually matched Liverpool with 3 shots on goal apiece. Salah hit an absolute screamer yesterday that will have the Portuguese shaking in their boots.
Liverpool has been more pragmatic on the road this year than in year’s past, but I certainly don’t expect the possession numbers to flip on their axis. A more 50/50 split or maybe even a slight edge to Liverpool should see them dictate this game from minute 1. Porto will need to press but won’t go balls to the wall, knowing a Liverpool away goal is game over for them.
This feels like an under game, but I see Liverpool scoring, even if it’s left late as Porto push for goals when the game wears on till conclusion. Regardless, I can’t see Porto overturning the result so we should see Liverpool through.
- Previous result: Tottenham 1 – MCI 0
WTF was that game plan from City last time out? It was almost as if Pep spotted City a leg in this 2 leg tie. OK, don’t start KDB or Sane but to wait until the 89’ to bring them on was at best curious and at worst, reckless. Take nothing away from Tottenham. It was a brilliant result, and they did what they had to do in the match. City had nearly 60% of the ball, but Tottenham held the edge with 13 shots to 10. Let us not forget how different this game could have been had Aguero not missed the penalty 13 minutes into the game.
Harry Kane is a big miss. but TOT was able to rest several key players this weekend in preparation for the return leg at the Etihad. City had a near first-team squad on Sunday for their battle with Palace, which they won 3-1.
We know City have the firepower to get it done. They’ll be at home. A 1-0 City win will see this game head to extra time. Any other scoreline will see one team go through. City are massive favorites for a reason. Spurs are no pushover, but I expect goals from this game….perhaps from both teams. Should Tottenham score, City would need at least 3 goals to go through to the next round.
PIVOT STRATEGIES FOR 4 GAME SLATE
Hopefully, there aren’t many pivots needed, as we should be sitting good. However, if you are behind, you can certainly look more towards Liverpool or Tottenham as a way to get through.
One way to handle this is to split exposure between the 4 game and the 2 game slate. Personally, I am sitting right where I need to be in my H2H for the 4 game slate, so I’ll be going mostly GPP on Wednesday for the 2 games.
The pricing is slightly different so let’s run through who we like quick for the 2 gamer. As always, I’ll be in the chat room an hour before kickoff.
Aguero – MCI – $8.4k
Slightly higher price for the 2 game slate, but the point remains: City need goals and he’s most likely to bag one.
Salah – LIV – $8.3k
I like others more in this price range, to be honest. Still feels too cheap, but that City exposure is needed.
Sterling – MCI – $8.7k
It’s not insane to get all 3 pieces of the City attack, but the top 2 for me are Sterling/Aguero.
Marega – POR – $7.6k
Handful and I think Porto scores.
Heung-Min – TOT – $7.1k
Sonny without Kane is always a good option.
Corona – POR – $6.7k
Love this spot and price.
Mane – LIV – $7.4k
Bagged a goal this weekend to get that confidence back a bit.
De Bruyne – MCI – $7.8k
Under $8k for this stud. I don’t hate starting the 2 gamer with the 3 City players listed.
Moura – TOT – $6k
2 goals this weekend to break our hearts. He can win us some of that money back with a counter-attack goal tomorrow.
Otavio – POR – $4.9k
There are several M/F eligible players listed in the Forwards section, and I prefer them over anyone listed from Otavio down in the Midfielders section.
Silva – MCI – $7.2k
This is simply too expensive for an aging player who hasn’t been in the best of form. I actually might prefer Bernardo Silva for $7k.
Herrera – $4.8k
Decent value here. Good for 4 points but has goal upside.
Telles – POR – $4.9k
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HIS PRICING! Someone explain to me why he is under $5k….
Alexander-Arnold – LIV – $5.8k
If no Milner, this price is fine. Set piece equity at that point.
Mendy – MCI – $5.1k
I did like to see him get some minutes. Assuming he starts, I’m fine there.
Van Dijk – LIV – $4.3k
Expensive for a CB, but he’s been popping up with goals and assists. A CS is possible as well.
Militao – POR – $3.2k
Cheap even if he plays inside or outside.
Pereira – POR – $3k
